Hey all! Happy Sunday!
Jillian and I jumped in the car after work on Friday to visit my wonderful cousin and his wife in Atlanta. We've been hoping for a weekend getaway for some time and decided last minute to drive to Georgia. Aaron and Lauren (pictured above) were the most gracious and loving hosts, taking us in for the weekend and showing us the best local spots. Thanks you two!
We started Saturday morning with a walk in Piedmont Park (the Central Park of ATL) in 62 and sunny conditions. It was gorgeous! Soon after we hit up Ponce City Market in the Old Fourth Ward for, you guessed it, food. The space is designed by James Development, the company responsible for Chelsea Market in NYC. Latino, Italian, Mediterranean, Mexican, and American only scratched the surface of culinary offerings. We were in HEAVEN.
After an amazing lunch, we were coerced into eating popsicles from Alanta's infamous King of Pops. Jill had Raspberry Lime and I tried the Chocolate Sea Salt. Let me tell ya, they did NOT disappoint. I would make the trip back to Atlanta solely for these babies.
From there, we popped into a french antique market across the street called Paris on Ponce. Aaron loves to craft with wood, making anything from frames to coffee tables to shelves out of scrapped windows and doors. I'm already planning on using his skills for a few upcoming birthday presents!
(On a scale from 1-100, how uncomfortable do we look? I'd go with 87. HA)
Last but not least, our sweet hosts took us to the Warby Parker store in Buckhead so I could see the space. Josh, the head optician at the location, worked with my team in Seattle last autumn. It was a blast to catch up with him and meet the rest of the team! And, of course, the photo booth was a must.
ATL! We loved you and will certainly be back for round two.
Hope you all have a restful Sunday evening! xo
