Sic Semper Tyrannis– “Thus always to Tyrants.”

Like many of us, I've moved through life with the goal of proving to the world I am able. I am self-sufficient, I am hard working, I am capable. I'm a shoulder to cry on, a mouth to give advice. My need for others is felt only in the hardest of moments, only once in a great while. This life is my own.

And it's all a lie.

I was created with a need to be known and loved. We all were created this way, weren't we? When I surrender my desire to do life all on my own, I find a peace not of this world.

If there's anything I fully and truly believe, it's being governed by my King is to know freedom!

I pray the creation of this blog will serve as a simple reminder the fruitful joys of this life were created as glimpses of His sovereign reign. I pray I can find beauty in relinquishing control. I pray I can remember there is strength in sacrifice. I pray my heart will fervently chase after our King, the one who loves us with a deep, incomprehensible love.

Here’s to our tendency to live like tyrants, and to the King who died so we wouldn’t have to.

Wherever you go, I will go, & wherever you live, I will live; Your people will be my people, and your God will be my God.
